The mission of GMA is to spread the values and methods of the Montessori education system to the students in and around the vicinity, especially the suburbs of Chennai. Through this, children can enjoy the complete freedom to explore their creative minds with limitless learning, along with the support of dedicated Montessori-trained teachers.

Our Mission and Vision

The Founder

Galaxy Montessori Academy (GMA) was founded in 2015 by Ms J Chandraprabha and she is the Principal of GMA International School.

The founder, Ms. J. Chandraprabha, holds two AMI (Association Montessori International, Amsterdam) diplomas: one for Primary (for children aged 3 to 6) and Elementary (for children aged 6 to 12) from Navadisha Montessori Institute (now Supraja), India and also a Certification for the Adolescence Orientation Course (for ages 12 to 18) from Quintaessentia, Sweden and a Certification for the Orientation Course (for 0 to 3) from MTRT, Hyderabad. She holds an MBA in Human Resources Management. In addition, she has completed a Certification in Montessori Leadership with Montessori Institute of Prague, Czech Republic. She has worked with children for more than 15 years in Montessori environments. Her experience in establishing new Montessori environments is extensive. In addition, she has wide experience creating Montessori study materials for children, which are among the most vital components of Montessori teaching. She also possesses a decade of experience in professional development programs for teachers.

Montessori method is a way of looking at, and understanding, children. It is a view of how children develop and learn that has been translated into a systematic education method based on careful scientific study. The Montessori educational system is unique in that it has successfully undergone continued development for over seventy years and has been used effectively with children in different countries worldwide. It is the education methodology based upon the principle that schooling should work with the nature of the child instead of against it. Therefore, education should be based on the scientific study of the child and a resulting understanding of the processes of development and learning.

GMA has pioneered in the southern part of Chennai to introduce Montessori Education to Elementary and Adolescent groups. In this journey, we have embraced several wonderful families with their children and by stepping into Pozhichalur as an International School, we are excited to be a part of your child's wonderful learning path.
